Los Angeles Dodgers GM Ned Colletti talks openly ahead of new potential signings – MLB Update
The Los Angeles Dodgers went 86-76 in the last Major League Baseball season and somewhat showed their offensive class against some of the leading franchises. However, they could not qualify into the postseason despite showing good results.
San Francisco Giants instead, possessed a more consistent tract record throughout the season and qualified for the playoffs from the Dodgers’ National League West Division. On the other hand, as soon as the season was ended the Dodgers’ management started
to rebuild its team who narrowly lost the place to play in the 2012 Major League postseason.
The Dodgers’ management just recently came out attending 2012 MLB’s annual Winter Meetings in Nashville where their top executives hoped for a better beginning from next season onwards.
Especially their team general manager Ned Colletti is much vocal for his team’s potential success in the coming years. Colletti, who is quite busy in this offseason, knows that this coming season will prove more result oriented for the Dodgers. The Dodgers’
have already indicated that they will be signing some of the most talented free agents soon.
Recently, Colletti has also met with Casey Close, who is currently the agent of Major League star starter Zack Greinke. Greinke, free agent, is looking for a potential Major League team for his somewhat secured future.
"We're not even on the front lawn," Colletti joked, extending the metaphor. "We haven't even gotten out of the car yet. We're still parked at the curb.
"It's better than driving around the neighborhood, looking for the house. We do know where the house is located. We just can't seem to get out of the car. I don't live in a 'cautiously-optimistic' world, It's either done or it's not done. It's not done.
I have no idea,"
Colletti added, "Too many factors are involved to project a result or begin to project a result."
According to above statement, Colletti is still optimistic to sign Greinke but many experts in the league have other perspective. These all experts, who have been also looking quite closely regarding Zack Greinke’s potential signing matters, do believe that
his signing with any Major League team is related with his own will despite any big offer from the Dodgers.
