Los Angeles Dodgers battle past Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 – MLB Update

Los Angeles Dodgers continued their incredible run as they crushed Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California on Monday, May 14 in the opening game of their two match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season.
Dodgers made a very positive start to the contest and they scored in the first inning, thanks to A.J. Ellis who grounded out to second. Andre Ethier also displayed some high quality hitting skills as he homered in the sixth to dent Arizona’s confidence levels.
Clayton Kershaw allowed just four hits in seven innings, striking-out six.
"Old-school baseball's one thing, and I understand what the manager's trying to instill over there, but there's no place for that here," he said. "It's obvious what they were trying to do, but I don't agree with what they did. It just felt wrong. He's a
good pitcher, he had an awesome year last year and I have a lot of respect for what he does on the hill. But if that's how they want to do it, that's fine. He missed anyway, so no big deal."
Dodgers have looked in outstanding form since the start of the season. Considering their performances over the last month and a half, it will not be wrong to say that they are the strong favourites to win this year’s World Series title. Not only are the
Dodgers a strong batting unit, they have a solid pitching line-up, capable of beating any team in MLB.
With just three losses and 16 wins at Dodger Stadium, they have definitely worked out a method to win their home games with ease. Using their home conditions to great effect, the Dodgers have created all sorts of problems for their rivals in front of their
home crowd.
However, Ned Colletti and company still have some work to do to be more successful in their away games. It will be interesting to see if the Dodgers can continue their impressive form throughout this season to win another World Series title.
Diamondbacks, on the other hand, will have to work extremely hard on weak areas of their game play to avoid series sweep.
