Los Angeles Dodgers centre fielder Matt Kemp injured with strain left hamstring – MLB News
The Los Angeles Dodgers centre fielder Matt Kemp is injured with a strained left hamstring and now needs an MRI exam before getting on to the field again.
Though the injury is not so serious, but still team doctors are taking all precautionary measures and will not be issuing any statement in the media regarding his potential arrival before examining his nature of hamstring.
Dodgers met the Colorado Rockies in their three match regular series on Sunday as Kemp ran towards first base with clear uneasiness which was also witnessed by the Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. After the game he told the media about his player’s situation.
Kemp told the media about his injury and the amount to time he needs to recover, “I'm definitely not going on the DL; that's not going to happen. The team needs me, I don't think this is a 15-day thing; I think this is maybe one, two, three days. I wasn't mad at Donnie, I'm just frustrated — kind of haven't been able to play as I want to play."
He added, "I just need to let it heal for a little bit. I don't know how much time that's going to take. I haven't been able to run the way I wanted to run and do some of the things I wanted to do, but definitely no excuses."
Some inside sources from the Dodgers franchise told the media that Kemp had been carrying the hamstring injury from last month which now is more aggravated as he needs some potential rest before recovering fully.
Before going into rest, the Dodgers veteran was playing quite comfortable with .359 hitting average along with 12 home runs, 28 RBIs and .446 OBP.
With his presence and new ownership around, the Dodgers seem good in first month of baseball. They are currently sitting at top in the National League West with 24-11 win loss record and carrying .686 winning percentage. The San Francisco Giants are chasing them but their record is not so overwhelming if you match-up to the Dodgers’ winning consistency.
