Los Angeles Dodgers cruise-past San Francisco Giants 9-1 – MLB Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Francisco Giants with a humiliating hammering of nine runs on Monday, May 7 at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California in their three-match regular series of 2012 Major League Baseball season.

Dodgers’ won with a hefty margin of 9-1 and secure a promising victory over the struggling Giants.

Their batting line-up once again excelled as they hit all parts of ground and dismantle entire Giants pitching rotation.

Dodgers starting pitcher Ted Lilly performed wonderfully and gave his team a perfect platform where the easily cruised pass the Giants.

The new co-owner and former National Basketball Association (NBA) and Los Angeles Lakers player Magic Johnson was also present on the ground and looked happy during the entire game.

Standing behind the plate, Johnson shouted with delight and cheerfulness, "It's time for Dodger baseball!"

Later Dodgers centre fielder Matt Kemp also said on Johnson’s presence in the ground, "It felt great. I think the fans were pretty excited to see Magic and all those guys sit in the owners' seats, It was definitely a different atmosphere, Magic's right by the on-deck circle, so I could probably give him a high-five whenever I want to."

The game started off with low spirits, but soon the Dodgers’ begun their thrust and made first run in the third innings. Fourth and fifth innings went scoreless while the real jump came in the final innings where the Dodgers virtually outclassed the Giants scoring five runs which proved decisive in the end.

Though the Giants lost the game, but still the team manager Bruce Bochy is quite optimistic for his team as he later did speak to the media and hoped for the better beginning in the next games.

"We had the tying run up there and a pretty good hitter, and he made a great play there," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "If that ball gets by him, two runs are in and the tying run is at second. That turned the whole game around. The wheels just came off after that."

In the meanwhile, both teams are now scheduled to play their second game on Tuesday, May 8.
