Los Angeles Dodgers crush San Diego Padres 8-4 – MLB Recap
Los Angeles Dodgers crushed the San Diego Padres 8-4 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Thursday, September 27 at Petco Park in San Diego.
"We have to win every day, Our only chance is to put pressure on St. Louis and make them win every day, We've been better, We've got some big hits and not just from the big guys. This is really more what you kind of expect," Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly said.
Los Angeles' entire batting line-up played well and earned a great victory. They kept the Padres’ under pressure during the entire game and won in style.
Dodgers’ pitchers and hitters were exceptional in the field and outplayed the Padres with great force.
Centre fielder Matt Kemp scored two runs and smashed two hits along with one RBI on his .530 slugging percentage.
He batted five times and maintained his balance on the plate which eventually proved one of the winning factors for the Dodgers.
"There's not much else to say about it other than we just have to win and hope we get some help," Kemp said.
First baseman Adrian Gonzalez added two runs and smashed two hits along with an important RBI on his slugging percentage at .431.
Along with batters, the Dodgers' pitchers also played wonderfully and did not show any loop-holes.
Starter Chris Capuano pitched 5.1 innings and received one run and five hits. He struck-out two while he maintained his ERA at 3.69.
Ronald Belisario pitched one inning and received three runs and three hits. He struck-out three while he managed to maintain his ERA at 2.63.
On the other hand, Padres did not play well as they could not score many runs against the Dodgers.
"Obviously, everything is a learning experience, You take some bumps in the road. I thought I threw the ball better but had the same problems with command in that one inning," Casey Kelly said.
Starter Casey Kelly tossed 4.2 innings and allowed five runs and six hits on his 6.21 ERA which proved one of the losing factors for the Padres.
