Los Angeles Dodgers crushed Chicago Cubs 6-3 – MLB Spring Training
Los Angeles Dodgers crushed Chicago Cubs 6-3 at the HoHoKam Park in Mesa, Arizona on Friday, March 30 in their Cactus League encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training Session.
The Cubs have no one to blame except for themselves. Making too many unforced errors during the contest, the Cubs allowed their rivals to dictate terms. The Cubs will be hoping to restore some of the lost pride before the start of 2012 regular season.
"From looking on the other side of the fence last year, to me he's a different person than what I saw playing against him," Manager Dale Sveum said. "His strength, the way he's pulling the ball, the way he's letting the bat go, you don't see that same guy
flaying stuff to right field."
For the Dodgers, Ryan Dempster allowed just one earned run and four hits in just over four innings to help his team rally past the Cubs.
Cubs’ second baseman Darwin Barney has an incredible .419 batting average this spring and he will be hoping to continue his sensational run in the regular season as well.
"It was definitely different because I was fighting to just get on the team," Barney said. "It is easier to get into a routine and it was easier to time all your workouts. Spring training is about confidence and I think I've done a good job of building on
it."
The Dodgers will be very pleased after adding another win to their decent spring training record. The Dodgers have given some great performances since the start of 2012 Spring Training. However inconsistency has halted their progress on a number of occasions.
The Dodgers will be hoping to bring more consistency into their game play before the Opening day to cheer up their fans during the regular season.
Considering the might of Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees, it may not be possible for the Dodgers to make it all the way to the World Series finals. They can certainly make themselves proud by reaching the playoffs. It will be interesting
to see if the Dodgers can defy the odds to make it to the World Series.
