Los Angeles Dodgers crushed by Miami Marlins 2-6 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers were comprehensively beaten by the Miami Marlins 2-6 in the last game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, August 26 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Marlins’ smashed four homers which proved too good for the Dodgers as they were defeated with a four-run margin in the last game of the series.
Despite losing this game, the Dodgers’ still managed to take away the series 2-1.
In Sunday’s game, the Marlins’ entire roster played wonderfully and won the game. They stood tall against the dire defence of the Dodgers and rattled them with some tremendous energy.
Shortstop Jose Reyes scored one run and smashed one hit for the Marlins. He also added a RBI as his slugging percentage remained consistent at .440 on four at-bats.
Marlins’ first baseman Carlos Lee added a run on his two hits. He came to bat five times as he also ran for a RBI on his .390 slugging percentage.
Right fielder Giancarlo Stanton also did well on the plate. He scored one run and smashed one hit on his five at-bats while maintaining his slugging percentage at .601.
"I've put some good swings on mistakes that were out over the plate, But the way I've been making outs, I don't think that I'm on any kind of a roll. I don't set goals for myself,” Stanton said.
Not only batters, but the Marlins’ pitchers also played intelligently and earned a great victory for their team.
Mark Buehrle started the game for the Marlins and allowed only one run on his 5.2 innings. He received six hits while he struck-out four potential Marlins’ hitters on his 3.62 ERA.
“He's got so much power, it's ridiculous, Every time he hits the ball, it has a chance of going out. I mean, he has 29 home runs right now -- and he's missed a month and a half. So it's kind of scary when you think about what he could have done if he was
healthy all year,” Mark Buehrle said.
Reliever Mike Dunn also did well with his 0.1 innings as he allowed one run and two hits on his 3.72 ERA.
