Los Angeles Dodgers crushed by San Francisco Giants 2-1 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers received bitter hammering of 2-1 from San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, May 8, at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles in their very next game of three-match regular series of 2012 Major League Baseball season as they also bounced back from last game’s humiliating defeat.
Starter Ryan Vogelsong played tremendously and won the game for Giants in style. He remained focus on the mound and never allowed any Dodgers’ to play him with confidence. His fast and curving pitches were unplayable for the Dodgers in-form batting line-up
Vogelsong, after the game said in detail of his game and about the game his team has won, “I tried to slow myself down. I was rushing through that curveball, I was leaving that up. I just tried to command the zone better. These games against them seem like they're always close, It definitely feels like there's a little more energy in here after this win. Hopefully this will be the one that gets us going a little bit. The defense really picked me up. They made some great plays."
Left fielder Brett Pill also played good and hammered a two-run homer to Dodgers’ ace pitcher Clayton Kershaw and paved the plat form for a tremendous win.
Later in the game, Dodgers’ pitcher Kershaw said, “I don't care about that. It's just frustrating to lose, It's probably one of the better days I felt this season. I had one rough inning, but overall.”
The San Francisco Giants took early advantage of one-run in the second innings and never allowed the Dodgers to come back later in all seven innings as well as winning with style in the end.
Despite the loss, the Dodgers are still up front in the National League West with the winning percentage of .633 while the Giants are one place behind in same division with the winning percentage of .500.
Now both teams got a quite good competition in their ongoing series with win one each while the series decider game is still to be played on Wednesday, May 9.
In their first game, the Dodgers edge past the Giants with a huge 9-1 margin.
