Los Angeles Dodgers crushed by St. Louis Cardinals 4-7 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers were beaten by the St. Louis Cardinals 4-7 in the fourth and final game of their four-match regular series encounter on Thursday, July 26 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
Cardinals’ have beaten the Dodgers in the third straight game when they ousted them on Thursday in their home field.
They played combined and never gave any chance to the Dodgers to hit their pitchers freely. Instead the Cardinals kept their opponents under pressure which eventually gave them a decent victory.
The Dodgers on the other hand, looked tired when they approached the final game. They could have done better and had a chance to level the series but they just could not match the Cardinals brilliance and lost in the end.
They lost the series 3-1 where their entire roster literally failed against the Cardinals in all areas of play.
Especially the Cardinals’ pitchers looked confident against the Dodgers’ upfront batting line-up as they did not give any chance them to score freely.
Starter Jake Westbrook played well for the Cardinals and only gave four runs on seven hits along with three earned runs.
"He definitely makes their lineup that much tougher, So, it's good to get a couple wins with him in there It says a lot about our team, how we came back after losing the first one and winning three straight. I felt really I only made one bad pitch, it kind
of snowballed on me there quick, I was able to settle down our offense came right back," Jake Westbrook said.
On the other hand, Chris Capuano was the main player who lost the game for the Dodgers as he gave six crucial runs on eleven hits. It just was not his day as he seemed to struggle from the mound.
From the start of the game he looked tired and never showed any commitment which proved disastrous for the Dodgers as they lost in the end with big margin. Los Angeles will be hoping to improve their performance and build up some much needed confidence in
their game-play. The Cardinals will be happy as their offence managed to fire and dominated the Dodgers for a tremendous victory.
