Los Angeles Dodgers defeat Chicago Cubs 5-1 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-1 on Saturday, May 5 at Wrigley Field, Chicago, Illinois in their second game of three-match encounter of 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Starting pitcher Chris Capuano showed his brilliance and rattled the Cubs’ batting line-up. He was exceptional on the mound and outpitched the opposing team in style. Shutting out seven innings and driving just two runs against the Cubs, Capuano kept his aggressive game and never let anyone play easy against his fast curving throws.
He received three hits along with seven strike-outs and literally proved the best man in the Dodgers’ roster.
Later in the game Capuano stated in the media with quite self confidence and told all the media personals about his particular good outing and what are the real factors behind of his persistent pitches throughout the game. He also told the media about his team which has bounced back in the very next game after losing one day ago.
"The first thing I did when I came in was watch my hit about 10 times, that's the thing we get excited about as pitchers. It's been a lot of fun. We've got great chemistry in the clubhouse. We're really staying together. As long as we continue to do that, it should be a fun year. I added a breaking ball in spring training that's been helping me out and that I have a pretty good feel for."
He added, “It's good having a couple of more weapons out there. I was pumped up getting that last out.”
The Dodgers started off well and scored their first run in the second innings and until the fifth; they led the Cubs’ with five runs and eventually won the game allowing only one runs to their opponents.
The next game between the Cubs’ and Los Angeles Dodgers will be played on Sunday, May 6 while it looks like that the Dodgers with this recent win are sitting in more comfortable position and possess the right kind of abilities to take the next game away from the South Chicago baseball franchise.
