Los Angeles Dodgers defeat Philadelphia Phillies 6-5 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 6-5 in the third game of their four-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, June 6 at Citizens Bank Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Short stop Dee Gordon’s go-ahead run in the sixth makes things easier for the Dodger as they rally past their opponents with style.
"Our big guy is out, So we've got to make up for it. It's always fun to win, but especially when you come from behind." Gordon said with confidence.
Phillies’ manager Charlie Manuel looked much disappointed on his team’s loss as he later in the game also stated in the media. He said, "Another one of our guys going down, what more can I say? It's kind of bad right now, but we have to show up and try to
win a game. Nobody is going to feel sorry for us."
Starter Chris Capuano played a handy role for the Dodgers as they easily sneaked through with big win. He remained on the mound for five innings and received four runs and four hits. He was also hit for four earned runs and struck out five batters leaving
his team in commanding position.
Capuano not only held the Phillies for first five innings but he also never allowed them to take control of the game instead maintained his consistent 2.82 ERA.
On the other hand, the Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick proved disastrous for his team. He was hit for five runs and five earned runs. His 4.44 ERA is somewhat considered much averaged if compared to Phillies other starters.
At start of the game, the Phillies took the early lead into second but soon the Dodgers trailed them down and went into lead in bottom third.
Phillies were also looking good when they bounced back in the fifth as they levelled the score 2-2 however, the Dodgers were more aggressive and continued their thrust until winning it in the end.
With this win, the Dodgers now stand at top position in the National League West with 36-21 win loss record along with .632 winning percentage.
