Los Angeles Dodgers defeat San Francisco Giants 7-5 – MLB Update
The Los Angeles Dodgers put in a brilliant performance as they defeat the San Francisco Giants 7-5 at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles on Sunday, April 3.
It seems that the Giants are in an unconscious hunt to do something different as the defending champions. The Giants left things unchanged on Sunday by getting trounced by the Dodgers. The defeat was punctuated by none other than Aubrey Huff’s outstanding
exploits that only provoked astonishment and generated awe in Los Angeles to help the team win by 7-5.
The Dodgers did not seem as unremarkable as they seemed in the year 2010, or the last match which was starkly offbeat with a 10-0 debacle. Pertinent to mention here is that it was the third victory against the Giants in the four encounters that the two teams
have had this season.
Matt Kemp did once again demonstrate something that must have left enormous impact upon the team as a whole, especially the team manager whose disappointment in 10-0 loss was neither confused nor doubtful to any discerning eye. His first home-run was useful
for a 3-0 first inning lead against the Giants which helplessly watched things going against them on all accounts.
It was the Dodgers’ Hiroki Kuroda who sealed the deal to a guaranteed win with his first huge hit, leading to outdo the four-run rally scored by Marcus Thames of the Giants. However, as the Dodgers had somehow maintained their lead, their comeback was certain.
Almost every player of the Dodgers had their contribution with Rafael Furcal having a couple of hits, Jamey Carrol, Aaron Miles going for a pinch-single RBI and Andre Ethier hitting another RBI single. For what seemed the inability to defend the first inning
3-0 lead, the Dodgers’ Kuroda staged a comeback which was characteristic letting the Giants only score three runs with over seven innings, scoring five strike-outs and no walks at that.
The Dodgers had Barry Zito to target who was recuperating after having an accident only recently. Furcel and Carroll did the job. When Ethier had gone, Kemp got underway with an electrifying start with the first ever home-run of the year. There and then
the victory was sealed for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers put in a tremendous effort as they managed to contain the Giants’ powerful offence. The Giants struggled throughout the game, as they were unable to open up their offence and take on the Dodgers’ pitching line-up. Los Angeles played aggressively
against the Giants to get a valuable win at the start of this season. The Giants will be looking to improve on their performance and compete with the top teams in the League.
