Los Angeles Dodgers edge Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 – MLB Update
Los Angeles Dodgers showed great confidence, fighting spirit and determination as they edged past Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 at the Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Thursday, April 19 in the finale of their three match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball.
Los Angeles has looked in stunning form since the start of this season. With just three losses in their 13 games this season, not only the Dodgers have surprised some of the National writers but they also earned respect of their fans.
Matt Kemp was delighted with his effort as he hit yet another home run (seventh of the season) and Jamey Wright displayed some high quality relieving skills to set Dodgers’ victory.
"Jerry did a great job," Kemp said. "He made two amazing plays. I'm just doing what I'm supposed to be doing, driving in runs, trying to help my team win.”
"Jerry shows why he's so valuable on those two plays," Wright said. "Wow. Saved the game for us right there. Pretty fun to watch. It usually takes me about two months to get that many strikeouts. Today was my mom's birthday. Maybe that's it."
"Really, we came in and could have got swept -- but we could have swept them just as easily," Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly said.
Although most of their wins have come away from home, they have given other Major League teams a taste of what they can expect to face throughout this year. The Milwaukee Brewers will be disappointed at their failure to end the series on a high note. The Brewers could easily have earned a series but they were denied by the Dodgers.
Handling the pressure absolutely brilliantly, the Brewers emerged victorious 5-4 in the opening games. The second game was also played on an extremely competitive note but Minnesota again found a way to cross the winning line to take a decisive 2-0 lead in the series.
Out of Dodgers’ three losses this season, two have come against the Brewers in this series. It will be fair to say that New York could have the result in their favour with a little bit of more luck on their side.
