Los Angeles Dodgers hammer Chicago White Sox 7-6 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers hammered the Chicago White Sox 7-6 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Friday, June 15 at Dodger Stadium in 2012 Major League Baseball season and took early advantage in the series.
Dodgers played aggressive and took the game in style. Despite poor pitching by their starter Kershaw, the Dodgers still managed to seal the win with narrow margin.
Kershaw pitched six innings and received eight hits, five runs and four earned runs. He struck out only two and could maintain his 2.86 ERA.
"Baseball goes in cycles and it has its ups and downs," Kershaw said on his outing which was not accurate. "I mean, this game's not easy. Just because you had a couple of good starts, this game will continue to humble you. So you've just got to keep battling
and competing. They have some big-name guys over there. The lack of familiarity didn't really bother me too much, but it's definitely different than facing the same teams in the NL West over and over again. That's for sure."
However, the Dodgers’ batters played well and helped their team with a tremendous win. Short stop Dee Gordon made a single run and with a hit on his three at bats. First baseman Juan Rivera also contributed in the Dodgers’ win with his one hit and one RBI.
On the other hand, the White Sox offence played far better than their pitching prowess.
Chris Sale went for seven hits, five runs and five earned runs. Other pitchers also could not hold on to their play as they lost the game with bitter humiliation.
Before coming into this game, both sides entered as their respective Division leaders. The Dodgers came as National League West leaders while Chicago came as American League Central leaders.
Though after losing the very first game of the series, the White Sox did not lose their top position, but still the defeat has affected their win-loss record.
The Dodgers strengthened their already strong position with yet another win. Now they stand with 41-24 win loss along with .631 winning percentage.
