Los Angeles Dodgers hammer Colorado Rockies 7-6 – Major League Recap
The Colorado Rockies’ came close, but not too close to clinch the game away from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, May 1 at Coors Field, Denver, Colorado. They fought hard and made six runs after being hammered by the Dodgers with seven lively runs.
Ultimately, the game was won by the Dodgers 7-6 with some deserted performances by their experienced players. From centre fielder Matt Kemp to catcher A.J. Ellis and from shortstop Dee Gordon to second baseman Mark Ellis, all these well established players proved their valour and won the much needed game for the Dodgers.
This was the second game between the Dodgers and White Sox of their three-match regular series in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Team manager Don Mattingly said with much jubilation, “We just didn't want to push it too far, That was fun, that's the way it's supposed to be, right? CarGo with the game on the line?"
This is also important to mention here that the Dodgers’ won the game on the very day when their franchise’s sale was being completed. The Dodgers management, though initially, it was just handed over to the group led by former Los Angeles Lakers’ player Magic Johnson, but now, its all documentation regarding every expect of the sale has been finalised and the new management will be working properly from now onwards.
"I think the fans of L.A. are pretty excited about the new ownership and what it's bringing. As long as L.A. is happy, I'm happy," Kemp said.
Regarding the game, in which the Dodgers outplayed the Rockies, was a combined effort and on which their talented second baseman Ellis said, "Every inning we'd come in and say we need more runs, we need more runs, Nothing against our pitchers. That's just the way this is. And then that wind starts blowing a little bit and you know we need to score some more runs. And we held on."
This is a healthy sign for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are now sitting in a comfortable place and feeling the much needed qualification into the post-season.
