Los Angeles Dodgers hand Washington Nationals 3-2 hammering – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers are doing quite well in this ongoing Major League Baseball season with total four regular three-match series wins so far. This is relatively a good record as compared to their city rivals Los Angeles Angels who are not only way behind
in league standings, but also showing no fighting spirit even against average franchises.
However, the Dodgers on the other hand, with the arrival of new ownership, are playing tremendously as they lately routed the Washington Nationals 3-2 on Friday, April 27 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California during their first three-match regular
series encounter.
Leading the series 1-0, the Dodgers proved their point of being offensively very strong to Nationals on Friday night in-front of 44,807 packed crowd.
Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw was the main player behind the team’s success. He pitched beautifully, mixing his throws with fast and at the same time with curve balls.
"There wasn't anything pretty about it, I was a little bit erratic. I didn't have great fastball command, but I was fortunate to battle through eight -- which was big. Getting two runs early was huge. This is a good place to pitch, so I definitely don't
take that for granted, Wins are nothing I can control, so I'm not worried about individual wins. The team had a lot to do with that." said Kershaw on his own performance and on his team’s success.
Later the Washington Nationals’ manager Davey Johnson also appreciated Kershaw and his extraordinary performance.
He said, “It was a tough ballgame, Kershaw made a lot of quality pitches. He crowded right-handed hitters all night. We weren't able to hit the ball real hard."
The current National League Cy Young award holder, Kershaw stayed on the mound for eight innings and won his 10th consecutive decision. He managed to put in a tremendous performance as he completely dominated from the mound.
Allowing three hits, one walk and six strike-outs, Kershaw is holding overall 2-0 record while gave his team another exceptional win.
The Nationals on the other hand, are now preparing for the second game which is scheduled to start on Saturday, April 28.
