Los Angeles Dodgers look to upgrade scouting staff – MLB Update
For over the past several seasons, the Los Angeles Dodgers did not make good choices when it comes to foreign talent.
Their management has not guaranteed their front office with some of the good overseas players in the roster. However, the current top management is looking much more interested to upgrade this graph.
The scouting staff, which searches for new players is bringing the Dodgers disappointment. The individuals who are working for them are not so efficient with acquiring talent.
Magic Johnson, one of Dodgers’ new owners is also interested to bring some foreign players into the franchise. He is also looking to upgrade Dodgers’ scouting staff which will be a healthy factor for them in the coming years.
Some say a recent development to bring Korean ace Hyun-jin Ryu into the Dodgers is the same aspiration behind putting some weight on their scouting staff.
"The experience and international knowledge these scouts possess will benefit our organization immediately," said general manager Ned Colletti in a statement.
Colletti also told another media group, “Through all our challenges internationally in the last few years, we did maintain a good group that continued to scout and continued to be prepared in the event that we had the wherewithal to get involved, This is very rewarding for the people.”
Later Dodgers' CEO Stan Kasten said, "Whatever good fortune I've had in my career has been the product of really good front offices, I think we have one here as well, and we're going to be looking to add and make it better in whatever way that we can,"
Experts believe that this is good growth for the Dodgers as they now will experience more professionals from different counties.
Japan and South Korea are two countries outside America where baseball is one of the most played games and at the moment. For the past several years, these two counties are also providing Major League Baseball with the best players.
The Dodgers are diverting their attention towards these two countries and their management is also looking hopeful to bring some quality players from Korea and Japan this offseason.
