Los Angeles Dodgers lose out to Cincinnati Reds 2-8 – MLB Update

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Cincinnati Reds 2-8 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, July 2 at Dodger Stadium in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
"They gave him all the tests and said that Zack should be OK tomorrow, We took him out more for precautionary reasons. He was a little glossy-eyed, so we decided to get him out of there because he got hit pretty good. It reminded me of when Goose Gossage hit 'Penguin' (Ron Cey) in the (1981) World Series and I was on deck. That's how loud it was," Reds' manager Dusty Baker said of his team’s great play and seemed jubilant after getting a comprehensive win.
Short-stop Zack Cozart played wonderfully and earned a great victory for the Reds.
"I think it just got away from him. I don't even really remember, to be honest, I just remember hearing a pretty loud bang,” said Cozart after the game and explained about his team’s joint effort which has given a welcome win in the series.
Not only the batting line-up, the Reds pitching rotation also played tremendously and gave their team a welcome win in the series.
Homer Bailey pitched eight solid innings and received two runs and five hits. He received only two earned runs and struck-out seven Dodgers’ batters while his ERA remained persistent at 4.24.
Dodgers’ pitchers played poorly. Except relief pitcher Josh Lindblom, the rest of the Dodgers’ pitchers played awful and received eight runs total.
Starter Chad Billingsley pitched six innings and received eight hits and three runs. He received three earned runs while his ERA went to 4.20.
Todd Coffey tossed 0.2 innings and received two hits, two runs and two earned runs. Later the Dodgers' closer Jamey Wright was also smashed for three runs and two hits.
Certainly the Dodgers’ rotation lost the game for their team. However, this was the first game of the series and if they want to come back into the match-up, they must play together and learn from this game’s particular mistakes.
