Los Angeles Dodgers lose to Colorado Rockies 1-3 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to Colorado Rockies 1-3 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, August 7 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Dodgers’ failed miserably in all areas of play and could not just match the Rockies brilliance. They played poorly from start of the game and lost in the end. Dodgers’ upfront offence and their experienced players also could not stop the Rockies attacking mod of play and eventually lost with bitter humiliation.
Dodgers’ hitters and pitchers did not show their natural and aggressive game which proved one of the losing factors for them as well.
"Every loss is a loss at this point, Obviously, we're not in position where it's the end of the rainbow or end of the year. It's not that type of loss. At this point, you are still trying to get a win every game you can. It's not like we can take this lightly. He was kind of Aaron tonight," Dodgers' manager Don Mattingly said later in the game as he explained his team’s poor performance which landed them a humiliating defeat.
Short-stop Hanley Ramirez was the only player in the Dodgers roster who looked confident on the field. He also showed his athleticism as well as his batting prowess.
On his four at-bats, he added one run and two hits while his slugging percentage also remained consistent at .422.
No other player from the Dodgers’ roster did well and could not play his natural game against the Rockies top offence.
Along with hitters, the Dodgers' pitchers also proved disastrous for their team.
Especially Aaron Harang played poorly and allowed three runs, six hits and three earned runs.
“I've been on teams like that where you get to this point and you have nothing to lose, but you destroy everything else for other teams, They are coming out hard and they are scraping runs together,” Harang said on his own and his team’s performance.
He looked tired on the mound and pitched six innings on his is 3.80 ERA.
