Los Angeles Dodgers’ outfielder Andre Ethier reports to training camp
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ veteran out-fielder Andre Ethier has reported to training camp of 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training on late Saturday evening and hoped for a better beginning next season.
The Dodgers’ management also confirmed his arrival and issued a statement as this will strengthen their roster that is looking forward to make a good impact next season.
After arriving in Arizona, Ethier said in the media talking to several reporters, "It's just the way I want to approach the game, Day to day, that's all it is actually. What can I do to get better today or make it better for tomorrow? That's all that my sights are set on."
He added, “Head down, focus on the task. The task on hand is what today brings. It's as clear and simple as I can put it. I'm not going to look up, I'm not going to look ahead next season, and I’m not going to look at the light at the end of the tunnel. I can't tell you anything about any of that.”
Dodgers’ general manager Ned Colletti and manager Don Mattingly also spoke to the media regarding Ethier and his game. Both are agreed that Ethier is a talented player and whenever the next season starts, he will be influential. Last season, he performed well and achieved good stats. Ethier, who has vast experience in the League is also looking in great shape to perform well in the next season.
Currently, the Dodgers are facing some internal issues of having new ownership, but on the whole, it is looking that they are close to the franchise being purchased soon. The new beginning will be giving all the executives some internal satisfaction. The Major League authorities are also behind the Dodgers selling process and has promised that this process will be smooth before the next season starts.
In the meanwhile, Ethier’s late enthusiasm is great and if he continued this offensive attitude, his team might get enormous benefit and show some good results next season.
