Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Ronald Belisario discloses his cocaine use – MLB News
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ relief pitcher Ronald Belisario has admitted in the media of using cocaine in the past. He added and explained with slight shame as that usage was only a one time experience as he was never addicted to it.
"I don't have a problem with any drugs," Belisario said. "It was a one-time thing."
He explained saying that was the past as now he wants to move on with new spirit. "That is in the past," he said. "I don't want to talk about it."
Currently the troubled player is in Venezuela trying to resolve the visa issues with his government. Taking banned substance has already put him on the firing lines of Major League Baseball authorities who charged him with at-least 25-game suspension whenever he comes to join the team for next MLB season.
Belisario also missed the entire 2011 season having same visa problems, but lately he said with confidence and hoped for a better beginning.
"I'm going to be here for a long time now," he said. "I am so excited to be here. I waited for this moment when I was home, and finally, I'm here."
A former Pittsburgh Pirates talented player, Belisario no doubt a good player, but his main problems of having inconsistent ball play has always disgusted his level of commitment.
Belisario was signed by the Dodgers when they were on the pinnacle of their form some three seasons ago, but as soon as he arrived in the team, he started to lose his competence. Though at middle of the season and at the end of the regular season, he sometimes had showed good performances, but most of the time he was just inconsistent.
The late news of his arrival in the League is a good sign for the Dodgers who currently facing bankruptcy issues. Experts believe that if Belisario comes this season into the Dodgers’ roster, the entire line-up will be stronger than ever. His arrival will also make it a little difficult for the Dodgers city rivals, the Los Angeles Angels, who are looking in good spirits to outdo every opponent.
