Los Angeles Dodgers show interest, giving Clayton Kershaw a long-term deal – MLB Update

Recently all the Major League Baseball leaders got together in the annual meeting of general managers where all the heads of franchises discussed various issues.
Every year as this meeting takes place, many new developments do happen within the leading teams. The main reason why this meeting has significance is the principles of new strategic changes, organisational structure and new financial possibilities.
In the past GM’s annual meeting, the Los Angeles Dodgers' GM spoke openly with many sports journalists and told them about major aspects of Dodgers’ playing strategies and the trade possibilities of some outfielders.
When reporters asked Dodgers’ general manager Ned Colletti about Clayton Kershaw’s future, he spoke with them in great detail.
Colletti stated that Kershaw is talented player and all the Dodgers seem pleased about his recent past season’s performance and they will like to give him a long term contract.
"I think that he came out of it pretty well, I think we'll probably sit down and talk about it once we get past this period of time, the free agent period of time, We signed him for another year, there's another year after that. That said, if there's a common ground on both sides, it's worth investigating," Colletti said on the last day of baseball's general managers' meetings in Indian Wells and explained about Kershaw and his current status with the Dodgers.
"I think his next-to-last start may have been his best start of the year," Colletti added.
Kershaw finished this past Major League season with 2.53 ERA along with 14-9 win-loss, 229 strike-outs and 1.02 WHIP.
He is very talented and has been playing in the league four years with best of his capabilities. His career ERA of 2.79 along with 61-37 win-loss, 974 strike-outs and 1.14 WHIP also makes him a good and role player in the league.
Experts believe that the way Kershaw has performed over the past four years as he has developed himself to be a very productive starter.
Since starting his career in 2008, he has never played anywhere else in the league except with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
