Los Angeles Dodgers show interest to sign Zack Greinke – MLB Update
Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly showing interest to sign free agent Zack Greinke after a row of speculations that the 29-year-old Major League veteran is potentially considering signing with the Los Angeles Angels.
“I don't know that players should go home feeling like the season is a failure, but I bet you every one of them is feeling like they came up short. And we have to figure out how to not come up short next time, We have a lot of commitments, With starting pitchers, you have track records, and you have a good idea what you're going to get out of position players," Angels' general manager Jerry Dipoto said in the past.
Later Angels’ manager Mike Scioscia said, "We set ourselves back early in the year and never quite got to a position we wanted to be, and we paid a price for it."
These speculations started early in the month when Greinke’s agent and Angels met to discuss a long-term contract.
However, now reports do suggest that Angels are still reluctant to offer a lucrative deal to an eight-year MLB experienced professional.
Dodgers on the other hand, could be winners, if the Angels' management and Greinke’s agent do not agree on any mutual understanding.
Los Angeles Dodgers, who needed a good pitcher in the roster, will be pleased to sign Greinke. He is a good player and finished the past Major League Baseball season on a high note.
He achieved consistent results and proved one of the best Angels’ pitchers. His stats remained consistent throughout the season with 3.48 ERA along with 15-5 win-loss, 200 strike-outs and 1.20 WHIP.
Not only this particular season, but his past seasons performances are also very impressive as he won many games for every team he played with in his career so far.
His career ERA of 3.77 is quite consistent along with 91-78, 1332 strike-outs and 1.25 WHIP.
Next few weeks will be more critical when Greinke and Dodgers will make further progress on any potential deal. The Dodgers fans however, seeing this slight development a very positive move and hoping Greinke will be a great addition in the roster.
