Los Angeles Dodgers surpass San Francisco Giants 5-3 – MLB Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers surpassed the San Francisco Giants 5-3 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Thursday, July 27 at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Hanley Ramirez played well and proved one of the winning factors for the Dodgers.
His timely trade from the Miami Marlins is now helping his new team in many ways. Since his trade, he has sent a very clear signal to the Marlins that they should have considered many times before trading him to another team.
Ramirez hit a homer in the bottom tenth and earned a great victory for the Dodgers.
“It's why I'm here, Manny Mota spoke to me and told me, `Don't try to do too much. Just do what you know how to do.' Every day he comes and talks to me. I have a lot to learn from him. We needed that win, We have a couple months left and we're just going to go out there and keep winning series," Ramirez said on his trade into the Dodgers and on his latest performance.
He added, “We're just having fun. That's what we're doing here, That's what I've been told. Play hard and have fun. That's the key."
Later manager Don Mattingly said of Hanley, “Hanley's an intelligent guy, He's been easy to deal with."
Along with Ramirez, the Dodgers’ entire batting line-up played with fine steadiness and eventually won in style.
Right fielder Andre Ethier also played well and added two runs on two hits while his slugging percentage also remained consistent at .485
Starter Stephen Fife on the other end played his part as well in the Dodgers win. He tossed 6.1 innings and received one run.
He remained calm on the mound and looked sharp from start of the play. He restricted the Giants with enormous power and gave only one earned run on 1.46 ERA.
In the meanwhile, Giants’ starter Matt Cain despite pitching well for his team could not save the game. He was hammered with three runs and nine hits while he gave three earned runs as well.
