Los Angeles Dodgers targeting Korean left-hander Ryu Hyun-Jin – MLB Update
Reports are coming that the Los Angeles Dodgers might sign Korean left-hander Ryu Hyun-Jin as they plan an aggressive bid lately as well.
Along with Dodgers, some other leading Major League Baseball franchises are also hoping and planning to land Ryu into their sides and more importantly in Major League Baseball.
The 25-year-old Ryu is a rising star in Korea and possesses extraordinary pitching skills.
He has selected seven-time All-Star in Korea Baseball Organisation and won five KBO strike-outs titles. Two KBO ERA titles and two KBO Golden Glove awards also makes him a prodigy in baseball world.
He has also proved his valour in recent World Baseball Classics and it is also the main reason why Major League teams now want him at least for next few years.
Experts predict that Ryu’s current team in Korea, the Hanwha Eagles, are also looking deeply regarding the recent development for Ryu who has been playing in their franchise for almost six years now.
News is also coming that a winning bid of nearly $26 million has been made by a Major League franchise as it has also been accepted by Hanwha for Ryu’s negotiation rights.
Some say that this is healthy development for Ryu’s future. Even Ryu has also expressed in the media after his Korean franchise accepted the bidding offer.
"I'd like to thank the Eagles from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be posted, which is the first step toward reaching the major leagues, Hanwha has helped me develop into the pitcher that I am today. I'd like to reach the big leagues and return the love of all my fans with good performances," Ryu said in detail and expressed his gratitude in a native news agency.
Major League Baseball is a big organisation as well as a huge platform for any foreign player unlike their respective leagues or teams.
For this reason alone, Ryu’s coming into the Major League will be a great and inspiring factor for many other players who still seek any potential opportunity to represent in the biggest and richest baseball league in the world.
