Los Angeles Dodgers trounce Seattle Mariners 8- 2 – MLB Recap
The Seattle Mariners trounced the Seattle Mariners 8-2 in the third and final of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, June 10 at Safeco Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Dodgers, from start of the game proved their dominance and allowed the Mariners to take control of the game at any point of the match instead kept them under pressure throughout the game and won in the end.
Andre Ethier hit a grand slam and helped his team to surpass the Mariners.
"If before it started we looked ahead, it would have looked like an uphill battle. But it was one where we went and divided the series and had fun playing, It's a nice way to top it off. Their plan backfired on them the whole series, They didn't want to
be aggressive to me and go be aggressive to other guys and that's why it's great to have teammates pick you up and do their job." Ethier said later in the game with detail and also explained how this game’s result will impact in their future games.
Not only batters, the Dodgers’ pitching offence also equally helped their team to oust the Mariners who came into this game with sheer energy for winning the series. They had already the won the first game and were looking for another win which could have
given the series’ win joy as well.
Chad Billingsley six years’ experience proved much helpful to the Dodgers as he remained calm on the mound for seven innings. He gave only two hits and one run along with a single earned run. He struck out eight and maintained his 3.57 ERA with great accuracy.
"I could just go out there and think quick outs and get the team back in there and just continue to throw strikes," Billingsley said.
With this win, the Dodgers are now at top of the National League Division with 39-22 win-loss record along with .639 winning percentage. Some experts believe that this late winning combination of the Dodgers is going to favour them a lot in the post season.
