Major League Soccer franchise Los Angeles Galaxy had been inactive throughout the summer transfer window. However, the MLS big-spenders have surprised everyone in the MLS circles with the signature of Barclays Premier League star, Robbie Keane.
The player had an agreement with Los Galacticos and is set to leave for the colonies.
“He can be an excellent addition to our club,” LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. “He’s an experienced player, a proven player at the club and international level and is at an age where he can still have many productive years ahead of him.”
However, his arrival might be delayed as the player has applied for the work visa. The next step for the Galaxy would be to remove one of their Designated Players to make spacer for the Irish star, as per MLS rules for international and designated players.
The club surprised the US footballing enthusiasts in the winter transfer window with the signing of the Columbian striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Pablo-c19796 Angel from the East Coast to The Home Depot Center.
“We know once his visa is approved we have to make some moves that will permit us in accordance to league rules to have Robbie Keane here,” Arena said. “Best-case scenario would be this weekend. That’s really cutting it close.”
The Galaxy had been lacking in the final third of late, according to the head coach, and a lanky striker would be a good addition to the roster. With experience in Serie A, EPL and Scottish Premier League, the player will bring some much needed experience
to the front line.
At the moment, Keane’s former EPL rival, Landon Donovan, leads the club’s scoring charts with eleven goals. Keane’s arrival would take some of the burden off the skipper’s shoulders.
