Major League Soccer week-18
While the first half was a barren affair, the second half between Los Angeles Galaxy and Chicago Fire produced goals much to the home crowd’s satisfaction. Galaxy took the game home by netting twice, while the fire’s solitary goal means their winless streak
now stretches to ten matches.
Frank Klopas saw his Firemen dominated by the hosts, as predicted by the MLS gurus. Although they created some good chances from the midfield, the cutting edge was lacking in the final third.
The Fire came into the second half with three attempts in quick succession. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Nyarko-c29300 fired the first shot on goal just three minutes into the game but it was wide of the left post.
Jalil Anibaba, who has registered two attempts in the first half, launched a shot from just outside the penalty area  but his effort was saved by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Josh-Saunders-c19537 to keep the score line barren of goals.
Dan Paladini, then, attempted for the Fire in the 50th minute. The midfielder received the ball on the top of the box and let fly a dangerous shot. Luck, however, deserted him when he needed it the most; his attempt ricocheted of the right post.
The game remained scoreless for more than 55 minutes but the next eight minutes produced three goals.
Galaxy skipper, Donovan, opened the scoring in the 58th minute. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 inside the box. Donovan received the ball well and calmly tapped it into
the net for a lead.
The Fire replied in the 62nd minute. Nyarko fed Nazarit in the penalty area with a cross, and the 20-year-old’s brilliant header nestled into the net to restore parity.
Beckham turned scorer soon after, his second goal of the 2011 MLS. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid winger received a free-kick inside the six-yard box and lobbed the goalkeeper with aplomb to push his side into the lead.
No further goals were adder following that and Los Angeles Galaxy held on to a comfortable 2-1 win.
