Los Angeles Kings' Jonathan Quick concentrating on Stanley Cup not rival goalie Martin Brodeur -NHL

When it comes to the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals, Los Angeles Kings’ Jonathan Quick is not worrying about rival New Jersey Devils’ goalie, Martin Brodeur, but instead, is focused on his quest towards hoisting the championship.
Martin Brodeur might have vast experience and three Stanley Cup championships below his belt, but Jonathan Quick has heart and the dedication to continue playing strong and giving a major boost to his just started career.
Being nearly 14 years younger than Martin Brodeur, winning the Stanley Cup would certainly be a huge advantage for Jonathan Quick and his upcoming years in the NHL.
"I think that's an exciting matchup for Quickie," Los Angeles Kings’ captain, Dustin Brown, said. "Given the year that he's had, to have a Hall of Famer at the other end compete against us is exciting because that's probably the one position, one-on-one,
that you kind of have a matchup."
When asked to compare Jonathan Quick and Martin Brodeur, head coach Darryl Sutter expressed his views in a rather different way by saying that there is just not much of a past record to compare on the two.
"Marty's played 20 some years, Quicker's played three," Sutter said. "That would be the biggest difference. And Marty's won how many Stanley Cups? End of story."
Martin Brodeur is definitely one of the best goalies to have ever played the sport of hockey in the NHL, but that is not something that will affect the morale and spirits of Jonathan Quick.
At the age of just 26, Jonathan Quick has managed to become a big name in the NHL. In all 14 games played by Quick in the postseason so far, he has 12 wins and only two losses with a .946 save percentage and 1.54 goals-against average.
With Game 1 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals set to begin on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 between Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils, it will definitely be exciting to see what happens and how the two goaltenders manage to fight each other on the ice.
Will Jonathan Quick’s youth be able to fend of New Jersey or will Martin Brodeur’s experience allow Devils to take down Los Angeles? Only time will tell.
