Los Angeles Kings' Jonathan Quick proving his worth to team, could signal contract extension -NHL

There are a few goalies that actually remain in the minds of fans after they achieve greatness and Jonathan Quick is certainly working towards becoming one of the legendary goaltenders as he has played a major role getting Los Angeles Kings back in the Stanley
Cup Finals for the first time since 1993.
Looking at how important Jonathan Quick has become to the Los Angeles organisation, people would think that they have given him a huge contract, but seriously, Quick is one of the most underrated goalies when it comes to talking about salary.
The 26-year-old, Milford, Cincinnati native, is making an average of $1.8 million a year on a three-year contract which was signed prior to the 2010-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season. Now, as Los Angeles Kings gear up to head towards their
first shot at the Stanley Cup in 19 years, Quick can expect a huge boost during the offseason.
Even though Quick is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July of 2013, Los Angeles Kings and his agent, George Bazos, expressed the desire of signing a major deal after the playoffs are done and over with.
Kings would be the biggest benefactors in this situation since Jonathan Quick will be a hot commodity in a market that really does not always have valuable goalies to offer. It has been learnt that a number of teams have also internally expressed their aspiration
to talk Quick into getting out of Los Angeles, but seeing how he has adjusted so well, there is barely any chance that he would think about doing so.
Some sources have even gone to the extent of saying that Jonathan Quick is much more important to Los Angeles Kings than is Henrik Lundqvist to New York Rangers, and that is definitely a very bold statement indeed.
There is no official confirmation on what kind of contract or when Los Angeles will begin negotiating with the hot goalie, but developments on this issue can be expected sometime after the NHL Entry Draft, which is scheduled for later on in June.
Possibly leading his team to a Stanley Cup, Jonathan Quick is sure to become one of the best goalies to have ever graced the sport.
