Los Angeles Kings Loss to New Jersey Devils in Stanley Cup Finals Game 4 intensifies series -NHL
New Jersey Devils gave their fans something to look forward to after surprisingly downing Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 of the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals this past Wednesday, June 6, and certainly intensified the series to a whole
new level.
As the Los Angeles Kings were determined to win Game 4 and march along the city streets with the Stanley Cup above their shoulders, Devils put some life back into the series and crashed their part for sure.
Kings had just seen two losses during the postseason and New Jersey Devils gave them another taste of how it felt to lose a game, which was definitely something Los Angeles will not be looking forward to again, but with new found hope and spirit, NJ is on
route for another win.
"Unfortunately, we have some spoiled people that think that everyone wins 16 in a row or something. A little confusing to me," Kings head coach, Darryl Sutter, said on Thursday while departing for Newark, New Jersey.
For Los Angeles, a loss was bound to happen but they did not expect New Jersey to comeback in such a strong way. It was so strong that Kings are beginning to doubt themselves against a sparked Devils team, but Game 5 will be the true test to see whether
New Jersey’s win was a fluke or not.
"Elimination games, I don't know, the teams you play against are there for a reason," Kings’ Justin Williams said. "It's not supposed to be a sweep all the time. You're not supposed to win every game. That's when their character comes out, when their backs
are against the wall. They played a great game, battled hard. We just didn't quite have enough."
Both teams are now in Newark preparing to go in what might be the final matchup of the intense Stanley Cup Finals. If New Jersey is able to pull off another victory, the series will definitely take a major turn and things could just become difficult for
Los Angeles in the next contests.
Game 5 kicks off on Saturday at 8:00 PM ET at the Prudential Center.
