Los Angeles Kings defeat the Edmonton Oilers 2-0 – NHL Recap
The Rexall Place was the venue for Tuesday’s encounter between the Los Angeles Kings and the Edmonton Oilers, as the Kings won 2-0 in the end. The Oilers are struggling in the season and were playing the spoilers while the Kings were looking to move up the
National Hockey League standings to strengthen their position in the Western Conference.
The Oilers came up with a few shots at the start of the game, but the Kings were able to counter-attack with some brilliant plays and dominated the game. The Kings came up with some brilliant plays and scoring chances, but neither of the teams was able to
score. The second period saw the Kings continuing to dominate and they scored twice in the period to get into a comfortable position. The final period saw the Oilers coming up with more shots on goal, but they were unable to score and the Kings won the game
2-0 in the end. Dustin Brown of the Kings was named the Star of the Game, as he scored two goals.
The Oilers made a decent start to the game which saw them firing shots on goal, but they were unable to score any goals. The Kings were able to get better as time passed and they made a couple of quick shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the
net.
The period ended with the score level on 0-0 with the Oilers making seven shots on goal while the Kings made 18 attempts.
The second period began with the Kings making a decent start, which saw them scoring in the sixth minute through Dustin Brown to get into the lead. The goal was scored as a result of a well placed flick-shot.
The Kings continued to dominate the game and scored once again in the 15th minute through Brown once again to double the lead. The goal was scored through a quick fired and well placed shot. The Kings were leading 2-0 at the end of the period
with the Oilers making 13 shots on goal while the Kings made 10.
The final period began with the Kings firing a couple of shots on goal at the start with the Oilers matching them and getting better as time progressed. Both teams got stronger offensively, but they were unable to find the back of the net.
After a strong offensive display which was equally matched by the defence, the period ended but no goals were scored, as the Kings won the game 2-0 in the end. The Kings made five shots on goal while the Oilers made 12 attempts.
