Los Angeles Kings gearing up to face New Jersey Devils in Stanley Cup Finals -NHL Playoffs Update
Los Angeles Kings have enough time to rest and are now preparing to take on the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals in a battle between Eastern and Western champions for championship glory.
There are no Tim Thomas’ or Roberto Luongo’s this time around. The titans now are Jonathan Quick and Martin Brodeur who will battle it out for goaltending glory.
"I just remember putting my skates on before practice today here," Quick said. "Everybody's just really excited. Everybody can't wait to play, can't wait to get going. I think the biggest thing is controlling that and understanding that we do have a few
days here. That's the one advantage we have over whoever we're going to play."
Analysing them play through videos has been something Los Angeles players have been doing these past few days and they hope that all that watching will pay-off in the finals.
"We haven't played against them, but familiarity?" Kings’ captain, Dustin Brown, said. "We've got video and video and more video. It's one of those things where it's different when you're on the ice playing them, but we'll have a good idea of what they're
trying to do."
New Jersey amazingly eliminated a team like New York Rangers after bouncing back from a 2-1 deficit and winning the next three in a row to take the Eastern Conference series at home on Friday, May 25, 2012.
Both teams have until Wednesday, May 30, to prepare themselves as the NHL has announced that date to be the start of the highly awaiting Stanley Cup Finals.
One advantage that Los Angeles Kings will have is being well rested, something that was expected to put New Jersey Devils below New York as they ended much earlier than them. New Jersey proved that rest did not rust them and dominated the Rangers in every
aspect.
The Los Angeles Kings-New Jersey Devils series will definitely be extremely exciting to watch as both teams are very similar in many ways. Kings and Devils have some of the best goaltending in the league along with a hot set of forwards and defenders, making
this year’s Stanley Cup Finals one of the best in history.
