Los Angeles Kings wins 2-1 against Calgary Flames in a battle to make it to the playoffs

The second game of Monday was played at the Staples Center with Los Angeles Kings winning the game by 2-1 against Calgary Flames. The game saw both teams in the play-off cut but they are low down in the standing and in the battle for the play-off spots.
The game started off on the slower sides with the teams catching momentum with the passage of time.
The period saw quite a few shots on goal by the teams but they couldn’t find the back of the net.
The second period saw the exact same start with both teams becoming strong with the passage of time.
However, no goals were scored but in the final period both teams managed to score and the regulation time ended with the scores level on 1-1.
No goals were scored in the overtime but Kings managed to win the game 2-1 after a shootout.
The game started off on the slower side for the teams but things intensified with the passage of time. The teams started to fire shots on goal and created regular scoring chances for themselves. The period saw Kings almost scoring in the 15th
minute but the just was well stopped by the goal keeper.
The period ended with the scores level on 0-0. During the course of the period, the Kings made five shots on goal while Flames made six shots on goal.
The second period kicked off with Flames making the early shots on goal. However, Kings joined the party with a few shots of their own.
The puck was seen going up and down the ice but both the teams failed to find the back of the net.
The period saw both teams ending the period on a high as they constructed some brilliant pieces of play but still they couldn’t find a way past the opposing defence. The period ended with the scores still deadlocked on 0-0.
During the period, Flames made 8 shots on goal while Kings made 10 shots on goal.
The final period of the game saw the both teams starting off with some decent shots on goal but the story remained the same as they couldn’t score any goals.
The Kings managed to score the opening goal in the 15th minute through Jarret Stoll’s well placed flick shot.
Flames weren’t far behind as they managed to score once again in the 16th minute through Olli Jokinen’s brilliant backhand shot.
The period ended with the scores level on 1-1 with Flames making 10 shots on goal during the period while Kings made 11 shots on goal.
The game went into overtime and no goals during the five minutes of play. Kings managed to win the game 2-1 in the end after shootout.
