Los Angeles Kings wins 4-2 against Columbus Blue Jackets as Blue Jackets fall behind in the race for the playoffs
Another one of Friday’s game was hosted by Columbus Blue Jackets as they played host to Los Angeles Kings at the Nationwide Arena.
Kings are currently in the fifth position and wanted to move further up. On the other hand, Blue Jackets are losing ground and they needed the win to keep pace with the ever so heating playoffs’ race.
Kings made a decent start to the game which saw them scoring the first goal. The period saw both teams scoring a goal and Kings were leading 2-1 at the end.
Kings doubled their lead with the lone goal in the second period.
The final 20 minutes of play saw both teams scoring a goal apiece and the game ended with Kings winning 4-2 in the end.
Anze Kopitar of Kings was named the star of the game as he scored a hat-trick.
Both teams made a great start to the game where there were shots on goal from everywhere on ice regularly. The offence was coming up with a demolishing performance which finally saw a goal being scored.
The goal was scored by Kings in the 9th minute by Anze Kopitar from a decent strike.
Blue Jackets also started coming across some decent pieces of play which saw them scoring in the 11th minute to level the scores. The goal was scored by Scottie Upshall from a quick fired shot.
Both teams were on the full attacking mode which resulted in both teams constructing some absolutely brilliant shots on goal.
Kings were finally able to score in the 16th minute through Anze Kopitar once again to get back into the lead.
During the period, Blue Jackets made 15 goal attempts while Kings made 10 goal attempts.
There was nothing much to talk about in the second period and there were less shots on goal during the period. The period saw Blue Jackets making 5 shots on goal while Kings made 9 shots on goal.
Kings managed to score the only goal of the period in the 12th minute which was scored by Anze Kopitar. The period ended with Kings leading 3-1 in the end.
The final period saw both teams making a decent start to the game as they fired shots on goal every now and then. However, it was Blue Jackets that managed to come up with some brilliant plays and managed to score in the 12th minute.
The goal was scored by Derick Brassard from a decent strike. Kings managed to score in the 19th minute through Justin Williams from a superb tip-in shot to seal the game.
In the end, Kings won the game 4-2.
