Los Angeles Lakers’ Lamar Odom’s best games of the 2010-2011 season – NBA Special Report – Part 1
Los Angeles Lakers veteran forward Lamar Odom joined the franchise in 2004 after having an outstanding season with the Miami Heat. In the early years with the Lakers, the 31-year-old star was struck with injuries and inconsistencies
that restricted him to demonstrate his brilliance as a prolific forward. However, with the passage of time the big man started to adjust in the team and became an integral part of the line-up.
Odom might not be the frontrunner in the squad but he is the reason to support the big guns down the stretch to lead the Lakers in the crunch time. His tremendous ability to perform in complex situations and supporting the bench
massively made him the first player in the franchise history to clinch the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award during 2010-2011 season. Odom is absolutely powerful on the rebounds as well that makes him one of the best all-round players in the league.
Two-time defending champions Lakers are determined to wrap up the title fight for the third consecutive year. The team’s championship run is extensively dependent on their sixth man Lamar who is the best man to finish the job on
the bench. He is also the best option to be played as a starter when needed. Odom’s best games of the season are as follows.
29th October vs. Phoenix Suns
The Los Angeles Lakers arrived at the US Airways Centre to take on the Phoenix Suns. Odom played in the starting five and racked up a brilliant double-double as the Lakers overshadowed the Phoenix Suns for an enthralling 114-106
victory.
Lamar was incredibly instrumental on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court and placed his team on the frontline. The night headed out with great aggression from both the teams as the game went for 41-41 tie, with
6 minutes remaining into the halftime. Odom buried a scorching blow from downtown to regain the advantage and the visiting Lakers procured 7 points lead as the game progressed into the first half.
Odom scored 9 points in the last two quarter and provided a number of significant passes to his teammates that resulted in an outstanding win. Lamar finished the night with 18 points and 17 rebounds, supporting the line-up convincingly.
17th December vs. Philadelphia 76ers
At the Wells Fargo Centre, the sixth man of the year Odom landed a game-high 28 points and gathered 8 rebounds to marshal the Lakers for a magnificent 93-81 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Odom started off slow in the first
half of the game and scored 11 points of his 28 when Lakers were leading with 5 points.
The Sixers bounced back strongly in the third quarter and snatched the lead 62-58 before entering the final period. Odom went invincible in the final 12 minutes and scored 13 points including a blistering blow from beyond the
arc to spearhead the Lakers for an electrifying win in the end.
29th December vs. New Orleans Hornets
