Los Angeles Lakers defeated by Dallas Mavericks
Los Angeles Lakers were defeated by Dallas Mavericks 109-100.
Pau Gasol scored 23 points, and Kobe Bryant pulled out 21 points and gave 10 assists. Lamar Odom banded 20 points and dished out 10 assists for teammates but even that could not help the Lakers from losing.
Shawn Marrion added 22, so did Jason Terry from off the bench. Jason Kidd scored 21 points while giving 10 assists as well. The Mavericks’ bench combined for 52 points while the players from off the bench combined for 57 points to help the team lead.

The game took place at the American Airlines Centre at Dallas, TX. The battle lasted for a duration of 2 hours and 10 minutes. A large attendance was recorded as the Lakers were defeated in front of more than 20,000 basketball fans.
Scoring
The lead changed eight times but the game was never tied. None of the teams committed any technical fouls.

The Mavericks broke their six game losing streak with their win over the Lakers. Kidd enjoyed a season high 21 points in the contest along with 10 assists.
Los Angeles has now lost two out of the last three games.
"The big thing was realizing and assessing the situation and then attacking from the beginning. Tonight we came into this game with all 12 guys suited up and ready to play. Guys got after it on both ends of the floor and played hard, and it just happened
to be against the world champions", Terry commented on his team’s performance.
The Mavericks have progressed in scoring as they have scored 100 or more points this season. They shot their season high 55 per cent from the field just two points lesser than their season high 111 points that they scored at Oklahoma City on November 24,
2010.

The Mavericks shot 55 per cent from the field whereas the Lakers shot 54.3 per cent from the same.
The winners were 46.2 per cent in three pointer attempts whereas the Lakers were reduced to just 37.5 in three pointers.
Los Angeles outscored Dallas from the free throw line, going 85.7 per cent whereas lowering the victors to just 69.2.
Game stats
Both teams had the same number of rebounds, 35.
The conquerors took seven while the losing team went home with eight offensive rebounds.
Lakers gave away 10 turnovers in the loss while Dallas gave away six only. Mavericks took 19 whereas Lakers had 11 fast break points. The leading team took the biggest lead with 16 points whereas the losing team were allowed to take a lead with 10 points
only.
Dallas took 38 points from the painted area whereas the losing team outclassed them by taking as many as 52 from the painted side of the court.
The Mavericks produced a solid defence against the guests in the matchup. They pacified in a strong defence against the visiting team to close a 109-100 matchup against the two time NBA defending champs.
Turning point
Ron Artest clinched a three pointer that edged the Lakers 69-65 over the Mavericks in the third quarter. The Mavericks held a 17-2 run when Kidd and Sasha Pavlovic bombarded a tirade of three pointers at the opponent team.
Hottest player
Kidd was the leading player as he went up in the contest against the Lakers. The player went shooting 5-for-18 from the field and was 8-for-12 overall. The player charged up in the third quarter to score 13 and had five shots that included a whopping three
triples.
