Los Angeles Lakers leading the Oklahoma City Thunder 50-47 at the midway point – Half Time Report
Looking to avoid going down 3-0 in this Western Conference Semi-Final Series, the Los Angeles Lakers are leading the Oklahoma City Thunder 50-47 at the halfway stage, courtesy of a Metta World Peace three with 0.4 seconds remaining
on the clock.
The game is currently in progress at the Staples Center and a capacity crowd of 18997 have come out to support their team in this much anticipated playoff matchup. Kobe Bryant is leading the Lakers with 13 points on a 3 off 9 shooting
performance so far in the game.
Ramon Sessions has chipped in with 10 points so far to go with 4 assists at the break while Andrew Bynum has recorded 8 points with 4 rebounds. Pau Gasol and Metta World Peace are also playing well for 6 points each at half time.
On the other hand, OKC have relied on their three big players to get most of their offence. Russell Westbrook is leading with 14 points so far, Kevin Durant is at 13 points and James Harden has chipped in 12 points so far in the
game.
LA have been ahead for most part of the contest up to his point and have also been able to keep their nerve on their visits to the charity stripe. The Lakers have managed to knock down all 15 of their free throws with Bryant making
all 7, and Bynum 4. Sessions and Jordan Hill have made 2 free throws each.
Thunder have also been fairly good from the free throw line, knocking down 13 of their 14 attempts. Westbrook has hit all six, Durant has made 2 and Harden has been 5 of 6 from the charity stripe so far on the night.
The game has been in an intense flow from the get go and both rosters have been going at full throttle. The game got chippy late in the second quarter when World Peace and Westbrook got involved in a scuffle were hit with a technical
each. Kendrick Perkins has also been hit with a technical for arguing with the officials after he was penalized for a foul on Andrew Bynum.
Harden sat out the closing stages of the first half for being in foul trouble as he already has 3 fouls in the game.
