Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant gets an honourable manifestation in Hollywood
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant became the first Athlete ever to have his hands and feet imprinted at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Saturday. The 32 years old star, who plays as a shooting for the two times defending champions,
the Los Angeles Lakers was honoured with a ceremony to join the list that is generally reserved for movie and music luminaries.
"This is a tremendous honour," Bryant said. "I feel extremely honoured to be able to do this. It's never something I actually thought about when I was watching movies. I never thought my hand and foot prints would be sitting right
here at Grauman's Chinese Theatre."
Bryant’s wife Vanessa and his two daughters Natalia and Gianna were beside him on the memorable occasion. A block of cement was placed on the stage in front of the theatre for the superstar to break the mould. He signed his name,
placed his hand and feet just below the signature and completed his mark on Hollywood by writing his jersey number “24”.
Kobe Bryant mentioned how honoured he felt about this and he can’t believe it’s already been 15 years at Los Angeles. He further said that he still remember like it was yesterday when he was 17 not knowing where his fate will take
him. As a part of Lakers, he said that there have been tough times however it makes him very proud to be a part of the franchise and win 5 championships and hopes plenty more for the team.
Lakers coach Phil Jackson was also present in the ceremony. Phil took a picture with Bryant in front of his hand and foot print as the crowd chanted “One more year” considering this is his last season as a coach for Lakers. Phil
Jackson announced at the start of the season that this is going to be his last year as coach as he retires his basketball career for good.
The NBA star is on the brink of his basketball career with outstanding achievements and brilliant track record as he continues to set milestones. Bryant won the fourth MVP award in the All-Star game on Sunday matching the number
with Bob Pettit’s NBA record. He led the Western Conference for a comprehensive win over the East with 37 points. Bryant is determined to win the upcoming championship for the two-time defending champion Lakers. Although the team is struggling with his performance
however Bryant’s presence has always been a great threat for the opposition. It will be exciting to watch how he copes up against the competitive teams this season.
Irrespective of how many more seasons he plays for Lakers, one thing is for sure that he has no plans for acting after retirement. Bryant had an appearance in a recently released short film however he is not choosing it as a career
after Basketball.
"No," Bryant said. "But I could see my vision behind the camera as a director."
