Replay
As the 2 hours, 20 minutes game made progress and moved forward, the Lakers were being driven forward by Bryant. They won their third game of a seven game road swing as Bryant succeeded in making the 16,561 basketball fans echo
the arena with applause and surrender to the charm of this charismatic player.
Somewhere in the arena
Queen Latifah incited the Nets fans into standing up and making noise before the game started and they did as per the Queen’s order. Magic Johnson was also present there to dazzle around as if Bryant was not enough.
Worth quoting
"All you gotta do is go out there and play and stay with it and good things happen." Ron Artest chanted.
Shooting percentage
The game was an amazing one, with both the teams chasing the ball like anything. The Lakers did not win this game that easily. The Nets did give them a hard time as they shot 40.4 percent against the Lakers’ meagerly high 41.5
percent.
Better among the worst
Lopez scored team high 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Nets who are now down with their seventh loss and have lost their 9th game out of 11.
Turning point
Lamar Odom was assisted by Bryant as he drove the baseline and gave him an easy dunk that ascended the Lakers to a 92-87 lead. Steve Blake added fuel to the already burning fire as he reconciled to grab a rebound with 2:28 on the
clock. This kindled an up heave in the game with a 5-0 run led by the Lakers and so the game took a turning point.
Bryant, as quoted by Avery Johnson (Nets)
"Kobe Bryant, that's the difference. They threw him the ball and he made some plays. He beat some of our coverages and he made the right passes at the right time. We forced him into a few turnovers, but he's a great closer." Said
Nets coach Johnson and sounding like he meant every word.
