Replay
In a nutshell
Bryant must have had the encouraging remarks of Mr. Obama on his mind that motivated him to go ahead and scoop as much points as he could but he wasn’t good enough to avoid the boos of the crowd when he missed his free throws later.
He scored 24 points in 24 minutes, 12 of them during 1:55 in the third quarter. He knew exactly what he was doing and he sure kept his gaze on the ball throughout the game except for that fateful time.
Odom toppled the score for the Lakers with his 18 points and 10 rebounds whereas Gasol scored 16 points and nine rebounds plus a sizzling six assists that helped increase the scores further.
Awesome
Gasol has an average of 16.7 points and 10.4 rebounds recorded in the last five games that he has played. He was most deliberate to saunter a triple-double and that was the most vital part of the game he played.
Stats
The Washington Wizards lost the fifth straight game and could not break their game losing streak as they lost their ninth game out of ten.
Quote it
"It got going for me in the third quarter." Bryant on the bad luck he had in the 3rd.
He missed all free throws after getting fouled while attempting a three pointer shot.
Take it easy Bryant
"Never happened to me," Bryant said later. "Never."
Turning point
Bryant missed three of the free throws bestowed upon him with six minutes to play in the third quarter but he regained his energy after that and loosened up to clinch his hat-trick streak.
Hottest Players
Bryant had his streak leashed out for a duration of just two minutes in the third quarter and the arena flamed with the heat radiated by his game. Young was brilliant as he scored 17 points in the first half in an equivalent 17
minutes.
Weaklings
Arenas and Kirk Hinrich were shooting just 8 for 25 that seemed to show a lack of determination.
Coming up next
For the Lakers, Wednesday @ Pacers, Friday @ Sixers, Sunday @ Raptors.
For the Wizards, Thursday @ Nets, Saturday vs. Heat, Monday vs. Bobcats
