The Denver Nuggets took a first half lead over the Lakers, 52-49.
Third Quarter
Nene Hilario attacked the opponent team with a layup shot to go 54-49, still leading the Lakers.
Kobe Bryant entered the third quarter with a jump shot assisted by Derek Fisher taking the Lakers 51-54.
Carmelo Anthony missed a three pointer attempt right after that, and Bryant rebounded for the Lakers.
Scores were tied at 54-all when Nene hit the free throw provided by Bynum’s shooting foul. Lakers played with a strong defence after that, Bryant going for a dunk shot assisted by Fisher and a jump shot by Bynum to take the scores to 62-57.
Nuggets responded with 3-pointer clinched by Afflalo to move closer, 60-62. A timely turnaround bank-shot at 6:31 in the final quarter gave the Lakers four more points over the Nuggets.
The Lakers never relinquished after that in the third quarter, carrying a ten point lead over the rivals, 82-72 till the quarter closed.
Fourth Quarter
Denver stumbled after the late third quarter surge that Los Angeles created.
(Denver) J. R. Smith opened the final stanza with a personal foul and missed a jump shot after (LAL) Shannon Brown tossed a jump shot, 84-72.
Lamar Odom dunked to give the Lakers the biggest lead of the game until then by 14 points, 86-72.
The Nuggets pulled out a few offensive shots after that, but missed two 3-pointers within the frame.
Odom went for a jump shot assisted by Andrew Bynum to score a whopping 88-77, over the opponent team. Nene committed a shooting foul, making matters worse for the Nuggets.
Bynum tossed both the free throws provided, going 98-82 at 5:50 on the buzzer. Lakers’ offence weakened a little when Odom, Fisher and Bryant missed a number of shots but the rivals could not produce much out of that.
Bryant committed a personal foul with 1:52 left in game that let the Nuggets savour two free throws, 89-100.
Anthony bounced a layup shot that transpired after Nene committed another shooting foul.
 Los Angeles Lakers did not try much after that but the Nuggets did struggle as Afflalo and Anthony closed the game for their team at 97-107.
Los Angeles Lakers win against the Denver Nuggets, 107-97, by 10 points.
