Los Angeles Police Department puts to rest rumours of Giovanni Ramirez’s innocence – MLB News
Baseball fans along with Bryan Stow’s family were ecstatic when Los Angeles Police department arrested Giovanni Ramirez in the Bryan Stow assault case.
It seemed like after months, the Police finally has something to offer to the angered public other than guarantees that they would get hold of the culprits in the inhumane beating.
As soon as the arrest was made by the LAPD and the S.W.A.T in a ‘movie like’ raid as described by neighbours, reports started emerging where it was stated that Ramirez may not actually be the Bryan Stow’s assaulter. The fact that no charges have been filed
against Ramirez even though it has been a week since the arrest took place further fuels the reports and rumours alike.
The Los Angeles Police Chief, Charlie Beck decided to put a rest to those rumours by expressing his unwavering confidence that the investigators have the right person. "There are standards for arrest in this state. We have met that standard, we have exceeded
that standard. We have met the standard for obtaining search warrants based on information that we have that has not been made public," he said.
Bryan Stow, 42-year-old father of two was just one of the thousands of fans who attended the game between San Francisco Giants and their long time rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 31. What happened to him in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium is not
something that happened to anyone else though, thankfully. As Stow was making way to his car after the game, he was viciously attacked by two men clad in Dodger gear and they beat him to a point where doctors had to put him under a medically induced coma to
bring an end to the brain damage he was undergoing.
Since that day, Stow remains in the Intensive Care Unit at all times and is under constant monitoring and supervision by doctors. The doctors have no news for the eagerly awaiting fans or his family since they themselves cannot assume when, or if, Stow will
ever come out of his coma. Stow has intense seizures frequently which further damages his brain, so the doctors have kept him heavily sedated for months in an attempt to keep the seizures at bay.
On the other hand Attorney’s for Ramirez are sure of their client’s innocence and have gone further to claim that his 10-year-old daughter will be testifying in her fathers defence, saying that he wasn’t even at the ball game that unfortunate day. Ramirez
is currently being held by the police on a staggering $1-million bail.
Over seven hundred clues and leads have been provided by the public to the police after they put up prize money of $250,000 to anyone who could provide substantial evidence leading to the assaulter’s arrest.
