Los Angeles - Tijuana?

Hey everyone!!

I'm taking my third trip to Los Angeles in November and I wanted to do something a little different. I'm going for 8 days all together, and I was wondering how feesable it is to take about 2 days and visit Tijuana?

My worries are:

-Is it safe for two females, 18 and 21 to go alone?

-Will I be able to see much in 2 days?

-What are the hostels like, and can anyone recommend one that is clean and, dare to dream, cockroach free? We stay at Banana Bungalow in West Hollywood whenever I go to L.A. and its fantastic so I'm a little spoiled in regard to accomodation...

-What is the journey time from L.A. to Tijuana, and what is the best mode of transport?

-No not safe for 2 females & at least take some guys with you too.

-You will see much much stuff  in only down town & for 2 days.

-Yes there is "some" toilet hotels & there "some" good hotels too. I do not know which hotel is good. Last time when I was in hotel @ TJ, the hotel it sucks. Have you check the web.

-Rent a car or truck. Either way. That's when me & my Uncle we rent a car @ Enterprise.  

You do not have to worry about Pesos because,TJ excepts U.S.dollars. I've been TJ a couple of times before with my Uncle. I do not like TJ @ all & I would rather go any small city in Baja California instead of TJ. Just be careful & take someone with you who speaks fluently Spanish too. I hope I was being helpful & if any you get any trouble, find the Police & they will be happy to help you.

P.S. Do not go to dark public places & do not let guys buy you drinks ok. Just for safety ok.  ; )

safe = no, mexico ANYWHERE isnt safe for two females alone.

tijuana is a party spot not a scenic trip

they have just as nice accomodations as ur used to, but there are real sh*tholes too. {{ i go to mexico every few months for fun - my hotel: for running hot water is $8/day...room with a bed and no sheets and no water is like $3/day lol}}
