I've misplaced everything countless times, but never actually lost anything.  My father still blames me for losing his calculator from about 27 years ago.  

This is funny because he has lost his wedding ring, which rolled down the street about 1/2 a mile (literally) he put an ad in the paper and it was recovered 6 months later, and his badge holder (badge included), which he found in the seat of his truck, over a year later.
