Question:

Losing Teams...?

My Volleyball team has lost every single game for two years, I don't think that we're really that terrible of players, and that our coach is that bad. The other schools are not much better/worse than us, is there anything you can think of to get a team's morale up?

  1. we have something in common, my team also lost every game and the other schools were way more better than us. but we did not stop there we train very hard and our coach was very proud of cause we very good players so i think u know what to do now!

  2. You are going to have to find the problem.  If your skills are pretty sharp and you are merely losing by a few points, then I think that you need to work a little more on the team spirit to keep the lull's away.  But, as you say you lost every game for 2 years, it seems that there are skill problems.  Breaking things down technically and meet with the team so that you have similar goals would be a good thing.  You need to get everyone geared towards getting a WIN!  It's never fun to play when you lose all the time good luck!

  3. Hey Carol. basically it's all in your mind.. you have to invision you hitting the ball in their face.. put a goal on the other side of your "brick wall".. see your self break through the brick wall and grabbing your goal... (win, great spike) there is no way your team will be able to succeed if you can't envision your wins.. otherwise right before you start do twenty jumping jacks.. get a good warm up cd.. get pumped up.. encourage each other!  that is my advice   =D  <333

  4. well i play club and we do awesome drills. one u all serve in one spot. u focus on the spot and take a deep breath. then trow the ball up and smack it. if the ball drops a lot then u knoe theirs a communicaton promblem. always talk and move you feet.even if ur team is serving then stay on ur toes. other than that u just have to give it ur all.

  5. The best motivation is going to be winning some games.

On the other hand, it is possible to start setting some goals to achieve in the game, short of actually winning, that might help your team see that they are improving, or getting better.

You say that you don't think your team is that terrible, the coach isn't bad, and the other teams are not that much better - you're pretty much ruling out everything that would point to why your are constantly loosing.

I would say that your team should work on team building activities - ways for the team to be able to work together.

If all the things you're saying about your team, coach and opposing teams are accurate - my guess is that team work is probably what's lacking.

    Good luck to you.

  6. Don't get mad at each other when someone messes up Trust me on our team everyone does it and we don't play very good
