  1. You are doing what's necessary to lose weight, or drop your body-fat percentage, which are both the same thing, by running in the park everyday, but you must remember to fine-tune your eating habits if you want to maximise your results.   By running, you are burning up calories, by eating... you are taking IN calories, so you want to limit your calories to around 1200-1500 a day if you want results as quickly as possible.  This does require discipline, and can be not much fun(lol), but if you have a goal like, losing your pot belly, then you can achieve this in as little as 3 months, then all you have to do it maintain your trim waist and body-fat level by exercising 3 times a week. The good news..??  You can eat the foods you enjoy because you don't need to lose any more weight..!!

I'm not sure how long 3 miles takes you to run, but you want to be exercising for about an hour, 3-5 times a week.

If you can do a little resistance work, like weights or body-weight exercises (ie: dips, pushups, squats, crunches), this will increase your muscle tone, which in-turn increases ur metabolism, making weight loss faster.   You could do a few sets of each exercise at the end of your run, or in the middle, whatever suits you.

Nobody wants to plateau, but when you have less to lose, actual, or TRUE bodyfat loss is slower, so stick with it until you reach your goal.  If you find you DO plateau, just change things around,, or increase your intensity.  The change in duration, frequency, intensity or increased weights will kick-start the weight loss again.

Focus on protein-rich foods, such as Chicken, Tuna, fish, lean red meat, egg whites, low-fat dairy products, nuts.  Carbs are ok, just cut back on the amount you consume, and obviously, minimise your fat intake.  Smaller meals more often, is better for you than 3 square meals...  it speeds up your metabolism.

Best of luck with reaching your goal, and email me if you have anymore questions  :)

  2. running is a cardio...do yoga after your runs...you have to start losing some fat from other body parts before your belly fat starts to shrink...stay away from all junkfoods, fastfoods and sugary/alcoholic drinks....drink enough water
