  4. I personally feel it is the lack of cynicism about the world.

    As an example: my first pregnancy was pure joy - when it ended at 10 weeks, that innocent joy was lost. The next time, I sat about for maybe 5 months waiting for something nasty to happen. It just wasn't the same.

    Innocence is always expecting the best and never considering the worse. Believing that good things will happen because you haven't done anything wrong. Losing your innocence is finally realizing that bad things do indeed happen to good people.
