Question:

Losing my health insurance coverage, how can I help pay for it now?

I'm 23, and in 2 weeks I am losing my health insurance coverage because my father is moving and taking all of his children off of his plan (whole different story, there...)

Anyhow, I do not work full-time as things are now (not a lot of jobs around here and there aren't enough hours this time of year at my current job) but I am still a full-time student and I am living at home for the next couple of months until I transfer to a different university.

My question is, how can I look into health insurance, and find out how much it will be costing me to get new coverage in the very near future?

  1. It is gonna take a while to  find the answer for your question on internet.I provide a related and good resource here for your reference.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  2. Some universities offer health insurance to their students. I would start there.

  3. Go to the guidance office at your school. They should be able to give you some good tips on that.

Beware, there is a world of rip offs in the insurance business, especially health insurance. Do not buy a "pay cash when you're in the hospital" policy. Worthless.

Look for one with a high deductable, but full coverage. They are the least expensive and will pay well for any catatrophic illness or accident. You can figure out how to cover the deductable later. Read the fine print, looking for all the "traps." Remember, health insurance is a big minefield. It's total "buyer beware."

    Good luck.

  4. there are a couple of possible solutions. because of your age and if you are in good health and you can not get insurance through an employer it may be less expensive for a a high deductible policy than you think. i know that this idea really stinks. here is another option. if you can get into a university in canada. there may be a way of getting onto there single payer system. this is something that you will have to research. sorry i do not know how work and school might work there for an american citizen but its worth a shot.  good luck   bob
