Losing power on a carpet attachment

my Majestic Filter Queen vacuum loses power when I use the carpet attachment. It seems to start and stop but when I use the other attachments I am not losing power. So I am assuming that there is a problem with the motor of the carpet attachment. Can you comment on this?
